President's Letter

Dear Theta Sisters,

Happy New Year! I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season filled with family and friends. It’s hard to believe, but it is time to begin thinking about the 2010-2011 year and your involvement with the Houston Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta. There are so many opportunities and ways to participate in our group!  I believe that there is something for everyone, and I invite you to become a part of our group by becoming a dues-paying member.

Dues-paying members receive a directory, invitations to special events, all issues of the Kite Tale newsletter, as well as informative and timely emailed updates.  As an alumna, you may participate in one of two levels of membership: Active or Theta Star.  Both categories include the obligatory $15/person fee that goes directly to our National organization.  Should you choose to become a Theta Star member, you will be providing additional financial support towards the operating expenses of the Houston Alumnae Chapter.  In addition to your membership, if you would like to help support our college chapters, please consider making a contribution to help with their Membership Recruitment.  Our collegians truly appreciate any help we can provide, and no amount is too small.

Please complete your membership information sheets with your dues payment by February 15th.  The early deadline will allow us time to contact you if you are interested in serving on a committee for the 2010–2011 year. If you are planning to write a reference or letter of support for a potential member, or wish to participate in a Theta special interest group or be a member of the Antique Show committee, I encourage you to be a dues-paying member.  Please tell your Theta friends who have not been involved to join us or bring them to a meeting.  I hope that each of you will attend a Theta meeting whenever you can and join us in celebrating our special sisterhood!

I look forward to seeing you!

Loyally in Theta,

Sallie Wynne Mansell

President, 2010-2011
