President's Letter
Dear Theta Sisters:
November, December and January are packed with so many fun activities! We hit the road running with the Joint Board and General meeting at Dorothy Cuenod’s gorgeous home on November 7th. Come meet Rafael Alvarez, Founder and CEO of Genesys Works, who represents one of this year’s Antiques Show’s Beneficiaries. To get us ready for “Royal Tea” Kelly Loft will demonstrate serving tea in the English Style.
Pull out your fascinators and join us at the Theta Charity Antiques Show November 15th – 18th. Jennifer Bowen and her fabulous committee have planned a “Royal Tea” not to be missed.
After we have recovered from putting on one of the best Antiques Shows in the country, we will celebrate the Christmas Season with Theta highlights. We jump on board for a bus trip to Austin to visit the Texas Governor’s Mansion and for a special tour of the Texas Capitol Building on December 4th.
On December 13th we will serve a holiday dinner at Bo’s Place. On December 20th we will honor our Actives, Legacies and their Mothers at A Holiday Happening at Lois Wright’s home, beautifully decorated for the holidays. The Salvation Army Harbor Lights Choir will welcome us and fill us with the spirit of the season.
We will celebrate the Founders of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity on January 23rd at the Junior League. The Golden Kite Coffee will precede our Founders Day Luncheon Celebration where we honor our 50 and 75 year Thetas.
As you see, we are going to keep you busy! Grab a Theta friend and join us!!!
I close with a quote from Bettie Locke Hamilton –
“I dream of the endless possibilities for the good and close friendship that this fraternity makes possible through the years…Just think, if it grows and multiplies, it may someday bring together into sisterly relationship women from all parts of the country who have never seen each other before who are all friends, because of Theta.” How true!!!
Theta love,
Vicki Lange
2012 – 2013 President
