Recruitment for 2008-2009 is just around the corner!
Please review the
following dates and important information:
The term “Letter of Reference” is the new name for Recommendation or “Rec.” “Letters of Support” are letters containing additional information about a potential member.
You may download a letter of reference from
The Theta website at: www.kappaalphatheta.org. Please follow
the procedure below when compiling a Reference Packet:
1. As stated in the official Letter of Reference, “Any alumnae members in
good standing may submit letters of reference.” A member in good
standing is a dues paying member. Please pass this on to Thetas who do
not receive a Kite Tale.
2. All forms, Fall OR Spring, are due May 1, 2008. All potential
members are considered by the Board in May, regardless of when their
college holds recruitment.
3. Please print neatly. Place a small photo of your candidate in the lower right hand corner on the front page of the form. Then make four (4) copies (front and back) of the form. You will be turning in the original, plus the four copies.
4. REFERENCE PACKETS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ALL
COPIES ARE INCLUDED.
5. Please fill out the form completely. Remember, your reference form
may be all that the actives have to go on when choosing whom to
recruit! A personal resume is not considered a replacement for a Letter
of Reference.
6. Include three pictures - one close-up, one full body and one other.
7. Include one copy of the high school transcript. Candidate must write
“released by” and sign her name on the copy.
8. Include a personal resume. One copy only.
9. Include any additional letters of support. Two or three is sufficient.
Deferred recruitment candidates and candidates uncertain of their college: Reference packets must be turned in by May 1, 2008. Notify Liz
Rigney as soon as the college has been determined.

This year, it is possible to send References electronically through
the Theta website at: www.kappaalphatheta.org directly to the college chapter.
Because Houston has a Recruitment Board in place, you are encouraged to continue to use the above system for compiling a Recruitment packet.

To save the form to your computer, Right-click on this link, and choose "Save Target As...". In the dialog box that opens, browse to the directory that you want to save the file to and click "Save".
